Silicon Mechanics Announces the Appointment of Sue Lewis as Chief Marketing Officer

Strong growth drives integrated product and marketing strategy

Silicon Mechanics, Inc. announces that Sue Lewis has been promoted to the newly created position of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), where she will lead Silicon Mechanics' product strategy, partnership development, business development, and marketing strategies.

For the second year in a row, Silicon Mechanics appears in Inc. Magazine's Inc. 500|5000, the annual exclusive list of America's fastest-growing private companies. As a result of strong sales growth in the company's traditional hardware products, as well as its fast-growing storage solutions business for virtualization and cloud computing, Silicon Mechanics created the new position to guide the company's strategic expansion, meet the challenges posed by growth, and ensure continued customer satisfaction.

Demand has grown significantly as companies reinvest in their information technology infrastructure to accommodate approaches like cloud computing and virtualization. This growth is also fueling new opportunities for cost-effective customized solutions that integrate hardware and software. As director of product management since January 2013, Ms. Lewis has used her in-depth knowledge of networking, communications, data management, and business applications to build momentum for Silicon Mechanics' engaged, collaborative approach, which combines the latest hardware and software technology into the best available solution for each customer. Ms. Lewis will optimize the planning and delivery of the company's broad product line.

Serving as a global and regional channel strategist with over 20 years of experience at leading prominent hardware and software companies, Ms. Lewis will focus on successful, strategic partnerships across multiple channels, driving Silicon Mechanics' direct sales, marketing and communications, product management, and product marketing. Sue has held executive-level positions across the Marketing spectrum, acting as VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, Regional Manager of Networks Integration, and Director of Strategic Alliances at companies like WRQ, Digital Equipment Corporation, Nimble, and Microsoft.

"The strong growth of our traditional server and software products, combined with the growing value we deliver to our customers in our rapidly growing customized solutions business, necessitates a closer alignment of product management and marketing," said Eva Cherry, Silicon Mechanics' president and CEO. "Sue Lewis' leadership will drive even greater company success."
