Hard Drive Manufacturer Warranties

While Silicon Mechanics always offers excellent 3-year support on all of our integrated products (for more information see our support page: http://www.siliconmechanics.com/i24343/technical-support.php), we want to let our customers know that our hard drive partners are changing their manufacturer warranty terms. This will not affect your Silicon Mechanics warranty coverage, only the manufacturer warranty on some Enterprise-Grade and Consumer-Grade hard drives.

This change went into effect for hard drives sold after January 1, 2012. See the table in the "Hard Drive Manufacturer Warranties" section of our support page for more details.

Consumer-Grade hard drives are not qualified for Enterprise environments. For this reason, Silicon Mechanics does not warranty Consumer-Grade hard drives; they are covered by their manufacturer warranty only.
