RackScale Clusters, Intel Cluster Ready Membership, and ScaleStation Workstations Broaden Silicon Mechanics' Product Line


BOTHELL, WA – November 13, 2007 – Silicon Mechanics, Inc., a leading provider of rackmount servers, storage, and high-performance computing solutions, today announced the launch of new products designed to serve the cluster marketplace, including its industry-leading online cluster configuration tool. The new products from Silicon Mechanics include:

RackScale Clusters: Clusters online for the first time.
Introducing the industry's first online-configurable Cluster Solution. The cluster configurator tool helps customers quickly and easily create the right cluster for their applications and immediately understand the impact to their budgets. The RackScale Clusters product line is an aggregate of servers and storage, cluster solutions, and cluster infrastructure — tied together in an online cluster configuration tool.

Intel Cluster Ready: Making it easier to acquire and use clusters.
Silicon Mechanics is now a member in the Intel Cluster Ready program, working closely with Intel and other members of the Intel Cluster Ready program to develop cluster solutions that will support multiple ISV applications certified by the Intel Cluster Ready program. The combination of Silicon Mechanics' hardware and the Intel Cluster Ready program offers customers tremendous value through the reduction of installation, deployment, and maintenance times for applications in their clusters.

ScaleStation Workstations: The power of a cluster in the footprint of a workstation.
ScaleStation Workstations are high-performance, deskside computers for users with applications requiring high processor and memory counts. The first in an upcoming line of powerful workstations, the AMD Opteron™-based ScaleStation G4401 is a versatile, high-power workstation with the potential to do the work of a small cluster.
