Intel® Xeon® 5400 Series Processors Improve Rackform iServ Products
BOTHELL, WA – November 12, 2007 – Silicon Mechanics, Inc., a leading provider of rackmount servers, storage, and high-performance computing solutions, today announced support for the Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® 5400 Series processors (formerly Harpertown) and the Dual-Core Intel® Xeon® 5200 Series (formerly Wolfdale DP) in its Rackform iServ server offerings.
Based on Intel® 45nm Hi-k silicon technology, Intel Xeon 5400 Series
processors offer greater performance in the same power envelope as
previous quad-core processors. Microarchitecture improvements,
combined with a 12MB L2 cache, and SSE4 improve on previous
generation processor performance even at the same clock speed.
