Silicon Mechanics Inc. is a dynamic and high-growth organization offering a position for a versatile, well organized Account Manager, Education/Research/Government . The ideal candidate will be a self starter, with a decisive personality and the desire to keep abreast of industry developments.

Sales Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL TASKS & DUTIES: Responsible for initial Customer contact and basic sales opportunities. Will assist Senior Account Manager and Sales Management in developing Customer accounts and opportunities. Assists management in devising sales plans and strategies. Operates under moderate supervision.

  • Performs sales activities via phone and e-mail to meet or exceed revenue objectives.
    • Functionally tied to a vertical sales team with a responsibility to meet or exceed sales quota
    • Maintain and master on-going relationships with direct clients.
    • Working alongside Sales Engineering the Account Manager is responsible for Customer consultation of moderately technical solutions.
    • Accurately processes sales orders from inbound callers; also responds to e-mail inquiries, orders, and other communications arriving via the Internet. Responsible for moderately-complex, transactional sales.
  • Serves as a liaison between Customers and appropriate company departments to address Customer questions and issues.
    • Communicates with Customers with regards to any account concerns and actively drives subsequent resolutions.
    • Collaborates with other departments, as necessary, to expedite and champion the resolution of pre and post-sales Customer initiative and/or issues.
  • Collaborates with various staff and departments in preparing special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge & Skills:

  • Enterprise technology familiarity.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with peers, IT management and staff, and internal/external business partners/clientsSelf-motivated, energetic, well-organized individual with the ability to prioritize in a fast moving environment..
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handling frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
  • Thorough knowledge of company's products/services and pricing practices.
  • Excellent selling, communication, interpersonal, telephone, and Internet skills.

Education Minimum Requirements/Equivalent:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training in business, marketing, technology or sales.
  • One to three years of sales experience.
